Most people don’t realize that Obama becoming the first African-American President is not the most significant event in American history; it is the fact that Obama is the first Muslim to join a church in America, call himself a Christian and become the President of the United States of America.
Before Obama, the US had only one President who was not a Protestant, John F. Kennedy, and he was assassinated. Senator John Kennedy had to make a statement and assure the American public that if elected he would not be subservient to the Pope. His brother, Robert Kennedy, may have become the next President, but he was also assassinated. There is no consensus as to why they were assassinated, but the fact remains, the US had only one US President who was a Catholic.
The people who supported Obama financially and the people who voted for Obama are not saying anything regarding Obama’s handling of his duties as President. It must be assumed that they are content with the job he is doing. His popularity remains in proportion to the percentage of people who voted for him, just over fifty percent. The majority in Congress are in support of his economic and military policies.
There is only one major discrepancy: the religious White Protestants in the US don’t approve of Obama’s economic policies. There is no consensus as to his handling of the military policies. Obama plays his role as President by following the recommendations of the majority of the American people. So far only the Fox news channel opposes him.
It must be assumed that Obama is a true reflection of the American people. Isn’t this what democracy is about?
