From Dr. Pangloss to Obama

Americans by nature are not pessimistic people; in fact, they are optimistic, always looking for the silver lining. They are a people of faith, and now God wants them to experience this -- whatever it is. Americans do not need this to be the best of all possible worlds. They are not like Dr. Pangloss in Voltaire's Candide; America does not have to be the best of all possible worlds for them to live in it. Besides, what choice do they have?

So, Obama is the President now. He is the best man right now to be President. The people have spoken and they have picked the most relevant representative for America for the next four years. He is the lowest common denominator. This is who we are now; we are a nation of Obamas.
