Michael Jackson's death at age fifty shook up the consciousness of Americans. The economy and the Presidency are forgotten. The North Korean nuclear threat can be put on the back burner. Pedophilia and homosexuality can finally dominate the cultural stage, with the news media recovering some of the advertising dollar lost due to the economic meltdown and loss of jobs. Sometimes people respond to tragedy much more creatively. When the human spirit hits rock bottom there is more hope. The American people stopped believing in a sacrificial Jesus; let us see if they can pull themselves out of a depression through grief.
