On Becoming a Nation

America was a nation of immigrants until Nine Eleven. The Americans were proud of their diverse heritage and prided themselves with their sense of fairness toward people from all over the world. This sense of equality proffered to all immigrants that flocked to American shores made America strong. Freedom is a gift from God, President George Bush said a few days ago in his address regarding the war of liberation for Iraq. George Bush, in the process of liberating Iraq, has become the greatest American president of all time, because he went beyond the preservation of the freedom of Americans. He declared freedom as a gift from God to all humanity. The War on Terrorism has taken on a whole new meaning. There is no turning back now, no going back to the savagery of the 20th Century and all the previous centuries that saw the destruction of civilization throughout the world. The true character of the United States of America is finally realized, "one nation under God with liberty and justice for all."
