Synopsis
The Woman at the Well is the story of the Samaritan woman at the well, Gospel of John, chapter 4. The Samaritan woman has five boyfriends, and the fifth one is about to leave her too. Jesus asks her to give him some water to drink. She says that Jews are not supposed to ask Samaritans for water. Jesus says to her if she knew who was speaking to her, she would be the one asking him for the water; but she is skeptical and says, "You don't even have a bucket to draw water with."
Jesus answers her, "Whoever drinks of this water (indicating the well) will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I give will never thirst again."
The Samaritan woman says, "Give me of this water always, my Lord!"
Jesus goes on to reveal to her who he really is. He tells her everything about herself. She is amazed and begins to suspect that he might be the Messiah prophesied by the Scriptures. Then the disciples come back with the food they had gone to bring for him.
The woman goes to her village and tells everyone about Jesus. They come out and hear Jesus. They all believe in him.
