Isaiah 56

1. Thus said the Lord,* "Guard [and protect] my judgments*
and perform righteousness, because my salvation is fast approaching,*
and my salvation will be [soon] revealed.
2. "Blessed is the man who does this
and the man who is empowered by it
and guards even the Sabbath,
so as not to betray it,
and the [the man] who guards his hands,
so as not to do evil.
3. "And the son of foreigners
who [performs religious duties] for the Lord,*
that the Lord has chosen me from his people,
and the faithful shall not say that I am a dried up [piece of] wood.
4. "Because thus said the Lord* to the faithful who uphold my Sabbath
and choose what I have willed
and who are empowered by my covenant.
5. "I shall enter them into my house
and [bring] them within my walls
and [give] them a homeland*
and a name that is better than sons and daughters;
I shall give them an everlasting name that shall not diminish.
6. "[And I shall enter them into my house]
those children of the foreigners, who will serve the Lord*
[according to the tradition,]
and who love the name of the Lord,*
and who become his servants,
those who observe* the Sabbath and do not denigrate it
and take issue with my covenant.
7. "I shall bring them to my holy mountain
and take them into my house of prayer.
Their offerings and sacrifices shall be according to my will [and] my altar,
because my house shall be called the house of prayer of all the nations.
8. "Thus said Maryah Allaha,*
who gathers the scattered of [the house of] Israel;
once again I shall gather upon him the throngs.*
9. "All the creatures of the wilderness,
come and eat all the creatures of the forest.
10. "All the blind can see, but* they do not know;
all the dogs are tongue-tied and they cannot bark;
they see and they sleep -- they love to sleep.
11. "They are dogs [with] greedy souls,
and they know not how to satisfy;*
they are evil and they have no understanding;*
they all return to their own ways,
[they] move aside and [join] their own party.
12. "Come, let us take wine and wineskins
and do as always,* and we shall feel great.*
