Isaiah 54

1. "Give praise, O barren [wife,] and be joyful in [your] praises,
and celebrate that you did not [undergo] the travails [of childbirth,]
because the children of the barren [wife] shall become more numerous
than the children of the fecund," said the Lord.*
2. The land of your tents* shall be widened,
and the expanse of your residents' tents
and those of your non-adherents shall be vast.
Then you shall lengthen your ropes
and [sink them down deep into the ground.]*
3. Because you* shall increase [in number] to your right and to your left,
and your offspring shall inherit the nations,
and the towns that cursed you shall repent.
4. You shall have no fear because you did not [feel] shame
and you shall not cover yourself because you will not be buried,*
because the shamefulness of your youth* will disappear,*
nor shall you again be reminded of the scorn of widowhood.
5. Because your lord* has made you* so;
the Almighty Lord* is His name,
and the Holy Savior of Israel is He,
[and] the Allaha* of the whole earth He is called.
6. Because as regarding the abandoned wife,
and with her spirit under duress,*
the Lord* shall call you,
and as the wife of youth that was abandoned,
your* Allaha* shall make it known.
7. "With much anger I left you,
but* with my great mercies I gathered you.
8. "With much anger I turned my face* from you,
but* with my eternal mercies* I will be merciful to you,"*
said the Lord* your Savior.
9. "This is for me like the days of Noah,
when I swore that the waters shall not again pass over the earth,
likewise I swore that I shall not be angry against you nor rebuke you.
10. "Because the mountains shall be leveled
and the highlands shall be abandoned,
but my goodness towards you shall not pass
and the covenant of your peace shall not pass,"* said the Lord.*
11. "Humbling and turmoil without being consoled;
behold, I shall make your stones in beryl
and [raise] your foundations in sapphire.
12. "And I shall build your walls with jasper*
and your gates with crystal*
and your towns* with precious stones.
13. "And all your children shall learn about me
and the peace of your children shall increase.
14. "And you shall be raised* in righteousness;
you shall be far from slander,
because you shall have no fear and defeat,
because [the enemy] shall not come near you.
15. "And whoever escapes from their hands, shall enter you,
and you shall be a safe haven for your inhabitants.
16. "Behold, I created the craftsman* who blows the air on the fire
and makes* a vessel for his work,
and I have created the ravager who ravages.
17. "Whoever [attempts to] dominate you
shall not make it to the top
and every tongue that rises against you in judgment,
you shall hold them accountable;
this is the inheritance of Marya's* servants,
and all righteousness is from me,"* said the Lord.*
