1.* The islands* heard me and the nations* spoke out;
from afar the Lord* called on me,
and from the womb and the belly of my mother
He recalled my name.
2. He made my mouth like the sharpened sword
and with the shadow of His hand He hid me;
He made me like the chosen arrow
and placed me in the scabbard.
3. And He said to me,
"You are my servant Israel by whom I glorify.
4. "And do not say to the offspring of Jacob
that you are providing support in vain
and give my empowerment on account of vanity;*
say earnestly that my judgment is before the Lord*
and my services are before my God."*
5. Now thus says the Lord who formed* me in the womb
so as to be His servant
and return Jacob back to Him and to gather Israel;
"I glorified Him before the Lord*
and Allaha* is my empowerer."
6. And He said to me it is a small matter before me
to have myself a servant who raises the tribe of Jacob
and returns them to greatness as Israel;
"I gave you as a beacon to the nations
so as my Salvation shall [extend] to the edges* of the earth."*
7. Thus said the Lord,* the Holy One of Israel, and her Salvation,
who himself humbled Himself so as they should be humbled,
those of the nation and those of the servants of the rulers;
the kings shall see and rise and the rulers shall worship Him,
because He is the Lord* who is Faithful,
the Holy One of Israel who has elected you.
8. Thus said the Lord* in the season of His desire
when He replied to you,
"And in the Day of Salvation I helped you,
and I formed* you as a resurrection for the nation
and a light to the nations,
so as the earth may rise and inherit
the inheritance of the wilderness."
9. And it shall be said to the captives that got out
and those [hidden in darkness] that were revealed,*
who grazed on the roads
and whose pastures were upon all the paths.
10. They shall not hunger and they shall not thirst,
and neither the heat nor the sun shall strike them,
because He who has mercy upon them shall fetch them
and to the springs of waters He shall bring them.
11. He shall make all the mountains into roads
and the paths shall be raised.
12. They shall come from afar
and they shall come from the North
and they shall come from the Sea of Saneem.
13. Give praise and celebrate, O earth --
the mountains shall be happy with songs of praise,*
because the Lord* loves His nation
and has mercy over His wicked [ones.]
14. And Zion shall say to Him that the Lord* has left me
and the Lord* has banished* me.
15. If a wife looks for Him
and is not merciful toward His Son of [intestines],*
even though they shall be lost, I shall not lose you.*
16. "Behold, over the measures of my hands I have marked* you,
and your walls are before me presently.
17. "[How] quickly your children have overthrown you
and left you [and gone.]
18. "Raise your eyes around you and observe
[how] everyone has gathered and are coming to you;
I am the eternal Lord;*
you shall wear all of them as decorations
and you shall wear the wreaths* like the betrothed daughter."*
19. Because of your ruinations and desolations
and the land of your revolts,
for henceforth it shall be oppressed by the settlers
and your swallowers shall flee.
20. And again they shall say into your ears
the children of your reclusives,
"This country is oppressing us;
[however] it offers us to settle in it."
21. And you shall say in your heart,
"Who gave birth to these for me?
Behold, I am barren and limited, naked and resourceless;
who is going to nurture them?
If I, behold, were left alone, where would they be?"
22. Thus said the Maryah Allaha,*
"Behold, I shall raise my hand upon the nations
and they shall bring your children upon their hands
and they shall lift your daughters upon their shoulders.
23. "And they shall be kings who shall be your providers*
and their princes* shall give you waters to drink,
and they shall worship you upon their faces
and they shall lick the dirt of your feet,
and so you shall know that I am the Lord*
and those that grasp on to me shall not be lost into oblivion.
24. "Why, is it [like] the fetching of the strange creature
or does the settlement of the powerful [rest quietly?]
25. "Because of that there shall say the Lord,*
'That you shall be fetched like beasts are fetched,
and like the settlement of the powerful you shall be fetched,
and your judgment I shall be the one who judges,
and [it is] I [who] shall save your children.
26. "And I shall devour your oppressors' flesh,
and like a libation they shall get drunk from their blood,
and all flesh shall know that I am their [Maryah and] Savior
and their upholders the Enlightened [of the children] of Jacob."
