1. What shall we say then? Do we allow sin
to abound, so that grace will also abound?*
2. Perish the thought,* for those of us that are dead to sin, how can we live with
it again?
3. Or do you not know that those of us who were baptized through Jesus Christ by
his death, He baptized us?
4. For we were buried with him through the baptism, to die, so that when Christ rose
from the Dead,* in the Glory of the Father, then we also would stride through renewed,
eternal lives.*
5. For if we are destined to identify with him through his death, we will thus also
be with him in his resurrection.
6. For we recognize that our old human self was crucified with him, so that sinful
flesh may be nullified, so that it would not be a servant to sin.
7. For those who die thus, he sets them free of sin.
8. If we thus died with Jesus, we have faith that with him, with Christ we Live.
9. For we know that Jesus rose from the Dead,* and that he shall not die again, and
death has no authority with him.
10. For that he died, he was dead to sin only once.* And that he Lives, he Lives
unto God.
11. Thus you likewise, consider yourself dead to sin, and you Live for God through
our Lord Jesus Christ.
12. Thus sin is not passed on to your dead flesh, so as to heed its lust.
13. And neither concede your members toward the abominable and or for sin, except
commit your souls to God, like human beings that rise* from the dead, and let your
members be adroit toward righteousness, for God.
14. And let not sin have anything over you, for you are [no longer subject] under
the Law, except grace.
15. Then what? Shall we sin so that we may not be subject under the Law, except grace?
Perish the thought.
16. Do you not know that to whom you accede yourselves, as you listen to him as far
as your actions are concerned, that you are owned by him? Whether to sin or to lend
him ear as to righteousness.
17. Accept God's grace however, as you are sinners, and listen from the heart, to
be in keeping with the teachings that reflect your submission to Him.
18. And as you are set free from sin, commit yourselves in the service of righteousness.
19. Speaking as a human being, because of the sickness of your flesh, whereas you
have conceded your members in the performance of evil and abomination, likewise also
now concede your member in the service of righteousness and holiness.
20. For as you were slaves of sin, you were set free toward righteousness.
21.And what were you imparted then, of which you are ashamed of today? For the end result
is death?
22. And now that you are set free from sin and are servants to God, you have holy
fruit, whose end result is Life everlasting.*
23. The business of sin is death, and the endowment of God is Life eternal* through
our Lord Jesus Christ.
