Reflections on the Spirit of the Usurper

[Satan tempting Jesus - collage]Satan tells you, "I give you the talents. God may have created you, but without me you don't get the things of this world: beauty, riches, sexiness, attraction -- all the best qualities that you desire. These are my domain. Isn't it written somewhere?"

Satan has no shame. He even said to Eashoa (Jesus), "Do you see all this," he indicated the glitter of the world. "I give you all this, if you bow down to me."

Thus Satan imitates Eashoa (Jesus,) to usurp His power and glory, so as to pretend that it is him, Satan, who delivers all this. In this way, Satan usurps the blessings of Eashoa (Jesus) away from the people.

Some people are fooled into thinking that Satan was given this power over humanity when he was struck down to earth, but this is a misinterpretation; the Lord allows Satan to exist and perform his evil deeds, because that is the way those who endure Satan's temptation will prove themselves to be worthy of Salvation.
