Hebrews 8
1. However, best of all we have the greatest King Priest, who sits from the
right of the Supreme throne in heaven.
2. And He is the minister of the Blessed Temple and the Tabernacle of Truth;
that which God embodies* and not mankind.
3. Any great King Priest who would rise to offer sacrifices and offerings,
would be the reason for which He was also blessed, so that He may have
something to offer.
4. And yet whilst He was on earth, He never became a King Priest, because
there were king priests there that offered sacrifices according to the Law.
5. They ministered in the likeness and shadow of those who did in heaven, as
was told to Moses while he set up the tabernacle, that, "You shall set up
everything in the likeness of what you saw on the mountain."
6. Now, however, Eashoa the Messiah has received a greater ministry than that, as
the Covenant through which He became the Reconciler,* and through declarations
greater than those that were given Him.
7. For if the first [covenant] was without opposition, it would not have
affected this second one .
8. For He absolved them and said,
"Behold, there will come days,
... said the Lord,
'And I will fulfill the house of Israel,*
... and fulfill the house of Judah,
By the New Covenant,'
9. 'Not like the Covenant I gave their ancestors
... on the day I took them by their hand
And led them out of the land of Egypt,
... because they did not uphold my Covenant,
I too let them flounder*,' said the Lord."
10. "This Covenant, then, that I lay upon the house of Israel,
... is after these days," said the Lord.
"I shall develop my Laws into their minds,
... and over their hearts I shall write them,
And I shall become their God
... and they shall become my nation.
11. "And no human being shall teach anything else
... according to themselves and say that
You shall know the Lord,
... for they will all know me,
From their smallest one to their priests.
12. "And I shall cut them off their abomination,
... and their sins I will not recall them again.
13. "By what I declare in the New Covenant,
... the first Covenant shall become the Old,
And that which becomes old
... and advanced in days is about to give birth."*
