One of my reasons for translating was that the Bible was originally recorded in the language Jesus spoke, the Ancient Aramaic. The poetry that was an integral part of the Old Testament could not have been sacrificed for the sake of recording the New Testament in Greek. Furthermore, what would be the purpose of recording the Bible first in Greek and then translating it into other languages? It's a major step forward that today so many people have already discarded the belief that the Bible as we know it was first recorded in Greek.

However, as for retaining the poetic structure of the Old Testament verses, just translating accurately meant that much of the rhyme would have to be sacrificed. I attempted to maintain the meter as well as I could, and occasionally there were some surprises: the translated English verses were sometimes just as poetic as the Aramaic.

Next, I expected to find some passages that were poorly translated from an idiomatic standpoint, but there were so many that I was nearly overwhelmed by the work. It has taken me years rather than what I thought would be months of translation.

One of my assumptions regarding why the Greek was considered to be the original language of the Bible, was based on the prejudice between the Jews and the Greeks during the early days of Christianity. While I found out there were signs of this in the Acts and the Letters of the Apostles, I didn't know how pervasive this struggle became. While the Aramaic speaking peoples sided with the Jews, the Romans persecuted everyone who did not want to accept their claim to Peter's seat. Once the Greeks understood Rome's intentions, they quickly joined the Eastern Orthodox churches, but it was too late. The Roman church never let go of the power and resorted to brutal force in destroying Eastern Christianity's churches and their centers of learning. The Protestants split off from the Roman church in the 16th Century, but rejected the Orthodox churches just the same. To this day, the Protestants claim that the Orthodox churches follow rituals. However, as they rejected the Orthodox churches, they also rejected their Scriptures. Instead they adopted the Catholic Bible and modified it in a thousand ways to suit their purposes, without understanding that they were modifying a distorted version of the Bible to begin with. The end of this process is worse. Racism is an extreme sense of moral superiority. modern Christianity regards both Jews and Eastern Christians with the same racist views.

However, despite the racism against the Orthodox faith, the modern-day churches have benefited by the Bible even in the form they retained it. From a Christian perspective, we can say that, after all the Lord Himself has permitted this racism toward the East, there must be a purpose for it. The persecution of Eastern Christianity is, therefore, symptomatic of their faith in Jesus Christ.

As for the influence of the Bible in the West, there's no doubt that the Bible has had a great influence over the English language. William Tyndale's work that was utilized by Miles Coverdale in producing the 1611 King James Version of the Bible, made its way into Shakespearean English and is recognized as the most elegant form of the language. It can also be demonstrated that the Scriptures have had considerable influence over the German, French, Spanish and other languages of the world.

I believe my translation will increase the number of people reading the Bible. I think I have clarified many parts of the New Testament already.
