Progress of the Translation Project

"The thoroughness and feasibility of the work plan can be demonstrated ..." When I first proposed this project, I was not fully aware of the time implications involved. I assumed that I'd be finished in three years, which is the length of the projects approved by the National Endowment for the Humanities. However, now I realize that there was no way I could've finished the translation of the whole Bible in three years, even if I worked 12 hours a day. In retrospect, it's just as well that the project was not approved -- I believe, due to lack of support from the US churches. After all I was a layman and my proposal didn't convince anybody in the committee that considered it. It was the will of the Lord that I should translate the Ancient Aramaic Scriptures without time constraints and the parameters of the NEH. Seven years later, I'm still at it. It's a small miracle that the Lord has allowed me to continue this project independently and without official sponsorship. I'm mindful that it's been a blessing to me and my family.

As a way of showing my appreciation for all the blessings I've received, I intend to publish a third edition of the New Testament after the second edition of the Disciples New Testament is out. The third edition will be a gift to the American people. It will be as elegant a translation as I can make it. There will be no footnotes. I'll incorporate the footnotes into the Text of the New Testament, not the entire footnotes, but only those that are necessary for a complete translation of the Text.

As for the Old Testament, I'll translate as much as I can of it. I don't expect to finish it, because of the difficulty of the task and the slowness of the progress. There's just not enough time in the world for one person to translate the entire Old Testament from scratch, given all the deliberate distortions and falsifications of the modern-day Churches. It was just not meant to be. It's mind boggling to think how the Lord has allowed it, but then I suspect that the New Testament was the main thing and that He willed it to happen so. Perhaps that's why He didn't go over much of the Old Testament when He walked the earth as the Son of Man.
