| The insurgency in Iraq is a symptom of racism and
intolerance toward all non-Muslims living in the Middle East. Just as Iran
has been pushed into darkness, Iraq is being threatened with religious
fanaticism. This trend in the Middle East, if not checked, will lead to
disaster not just for Israel but for the entire free world. And it's not
just the flow of energy resources that is threatened, but the security and
well-being of many countries that are heavily dependent on oil, both as a
source of income and for those industrialized nations that desperately
need the oil to maintain their standards of living. The UN is not geared
toward recognizing this threat to peace, but the US and its Allies better
leave no stone unturned in addressing the problem. It's not just getting
the Iraqis to name their government and begin the constitution writing
process, but everyone concerned must realize that all the work and
sacrifice that went into liberating Iraq from a murderous regime will be
wasted if Iraq doesn't choose democracy and end up becoming an Islamic
regime. It's like replacing one form of Islamic fanaticism with another.
