Armageddon Revisited

The discovery of oil in the middle of the 19th Century is what set the world on the present course of world wars one and two, and now we are in the early stages of world war three. The first shots were fired on September 11, 2001. The other battles were mere skirmishes within the major war for the control of world oil resources. It may seem ironic that the discovery of oil also coincided with the discovery of genuine Christianity in the foothills of Mesopotamia. The oldest churches from the 1st Century of Christianity had to be cleared out of the way if the West was going to be able to exploit the oil in the Middle East, because Western Christianity was based on false premises. Western Christianity was not prepared to own up to the truth about the Scriptures and would have to mislead the people of the world about their intentions. The Western World would have to deny the existence of the authentic branch of Christianity, namely the Ancient Church of the East and Eastern Christianity. They had to sacrifice Eastern Christianity in their greed for oil and thus prove their utter lack of legitimacy as a Christian people following in the footsteps of the Apostles of Jesus. This was a heavy price to pay, but the West decided that there was no other alternative.

In North Mesopotamia the final phase of clearing out the genuine Christians is now taking place. A few European nations are reporting on it in the news media even. American Christianity has ignored the genocide of Eastern Christianity for too long; there is a price to pay for this.

In 18 days the American people will decide the fate of Christianity in America.

Every election held in American history was predicated on a candidate having to be a Christian. John Kennedy was the only exception. John Kennedy was the first Catholic to be elected President of the United States.

This election, for the first time in history and without any publicity or fanfare, all the candidates entered the race without stating their religious affiliation. And strangely nobody made an issue of this fact. None of the news media have even done a story on it! Christianity has been removed as a precondition to the Presidency without anybody raising a question regarding this astounding development. Exactly when or why did this state of affairs come into being? Was it because Senator Barack Hussein Obama was the first Presidential candidate in history who was a Muslim until he entered politics a few years ago? This would explain it, but then why didn't any of the other candidates state their religious faith? Were they afraid of the atheist media? Did the US suddenly become an atheist country without anybody being aware of it?

Well, there is the issue of prayer in public schools. The Supreme Court violated the Constitution by ruling in the early 70s that prayer in public schools was illegal, based on the case of a primary school student being of a different faith. The Senate should have brought this ruling by the Supreme Court for trial in Congress, but they didn't. The Congress has never done this, yet it is their Constitutional duty to do so when such a major component of the Constitution has been violated.

Little by little the influence of the Bible on American life has been whittled away by the atheists and leftists in America, until today we find ourselves a secular society with Christianity as only a symbolic presence in American public life. For example, recently, the symbol of the Cross was removed from the shield of Los Angeles County. Nobody complained. A statue of the Ten Commandments was removed from in front of a public building in West Virginia. The Supreme Court ruled that it was alright. This sort of thing has been going on for a few decades now, and nobody has been paying attention to it, because Christianity has really been on the decline in the US for many years now.

So now it has come to this election. Is America a Christian country or not? Is God a reality in American life or is he a religious symbol in a secular state? Of course, we know that according to the US Government Department of Education God did not create the universe; therefore, the Bible has been outlawed since the 50s in American public schools. So half a century later, with no sign of God, Americans have decided to forget about God, and as for Jesus, well, you can believe in anything you want. We have to be honest with ourselves. Are we Christians or not?

If Jesus is the Son of God and if everything proceeds according to God's Will, then there must be a reason why the name of Jesus is taboo in the campaigns of both candidates.

Therefore, from this perspective, the election of 2008 is about one thing only: was Jesus the Messiah prophesied by the Scriptures or was he an imposter?

By electing Obama President, the American people will decide that Jesus was not the Messiah, but simply a man of God who in his own mind fulfilled the Scriptures' prophesies and inspired a following that today Americas must respect and allow to exist as one of the religions of America. Christianity according to the Democrats is just another religion. This perception appeals to American Jews and Muslims alike; that's why many Jews support Obama – the Muslims, of course, support Obama because his father was a Muslim. In fact, this perception of religion appeals to all the religions that are part of the fabric of American society. This is what democracy means to most Americans today; the people will vote and the matter will be decided. This is what the media thinks also. Therefore, nobody should mention anything about Jesus in this election publicly. They can say whatever they want on Youtube, but not on the FCC sanctioned television stations. The news media must not mention the name of Jesus. In fact, the candidates must not mention the name of Jesus, otherwise they won't be elected. But Sarah Palin used to lead the prayer before every competitive basketball game she played in high school. Well, that was alright then, but now that she is running for Vice-President, she should not blow it by mentioning the name of Jesus – God is alright, everybody is allowed to say, “God bless America.” However, this must also come to an end, because after all we have already adopted Thomas Jefferson's recommendation that we should keep matters of State separate from matters of Faith. In other words, we should be a secular society – humanitarian in nature though, and we are, therefore, a secular humanist society. The appeal of this formulation is that even atheists and agnostics can be part of secular humanism, as humanism is based on the notion that the human being is the arbiter of what is and is not, what is right and what is not – everything according to a fair and balanced assessment of the facts, based on observations, the scientific method and the democratic process.

It is also a matter of historical record that after Jesus was crucified by the Romans, a handful of Jewish Pharisees and High Priests went up to Pilate and asked for guards to be placed at the tomb of Jesus. Pilate said to them, “Why don't you post your own guards.” But they persisted, because there was a conflict of interest, as the Disciples were Jewish and they might tell another story. After Jesus was resurrected, the Pharisees even bribed the Roman centurions who had guarded the tomb of Jesus, so that they would lie and say that the Disciples had stolen the body of Jesus and that Jesus hadn't risen from the dead.

The New Testament Scriptures tell us in Matthew 28:15 how this lie was propagated for years to come. In fact, to this day this lie is told. However there are other issues that have risen since.

Six million Jews were killed by the Nazis during WW II. It is the greatest atrocity perpetrated in modern times. It's so horrible that there are no civilized words to describe it adequately. The genocide of a huge portion of the Jewish people has caused such an aversion among Americans for religious prejudice that they want to throw the baby with the bathwater and proclaim all religious beliefs as outside the realm of public concern; except for the protection of the right of individuals to believe in whatever religion they deem fit, except again, as long as the practice of that religion does not impinge on the rights of others in their beliefs and the practice of their religion – which is impossible in the case of the Islamic faith, because Islam is based on eradicating all false religions. So we have a Catch-22 situation with Islam in America. But now we may have a solution to that: Barack Hussein Obama, a Christian-Muslim, who also respects Judaism. Senator Joe Lieberman is not convinced, but Senator Chuck Schumer is.

Now, if only we Americans can accept the possibility that Jesus did not rise from the dead literally but figuratively, we can put our religious difference with the Jews aside and concentrate on our differences with the Muslims. All Americans want is for us to live at peace. By electing Senator Obama as President, the American people will forever put to rest the question of whether or not Jesus was the prophesied Messiah of the Scriptures. However, Senator Obama two nights ago joked in the presence of Cardinal Egan that he (Obama) wasn't the Messiah, because he wasn't born in a manger. The reference was to Obama's neighbor in Chicago, the Nation of Islam minister Louis Farrakhan, who preaches to his followers that Obama is the Messiah.

Jesus told us about false messiahs claiming to be him and false prophets proclaiming themselves to be genuine, but he told us not to believe in them. The only question left for the American people is: will they continue to believe that Jesus is the true Messiah or will they elect Barack Hussein Obama as their President and negate the fact that America is Christianity's last refuge.
