Indeed it is hard to forget the attacks on American soil on September 11, 2001. Ten years ago George W. Bush was the President. The US retaliated by attacking Afghanistan and removed the anti-American government. Later the US attacked Iraq and removed Saddam Hussein from power. US policy was to treat every government that supported the attacks of 9-11 as potential enemies.
The US government was quick to point out that the attacks on America were the work of the nineteen individuals who hijacked the four planes and rammed them into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, that these attacks were not religiously motivated.
However, the media reported that the attackers were all Muslims. Seventeen were from Saudi Arabia and two from Egypt. The Muslims in the world became the targets of criticism, most of which was unjustified.
Then Obama became President, and it must be said that he did a lot to restore the image of the Muslims in America. He took many actions to show the world that Americans are not anti-Muslim. Half of Obama's family is Muslim, so it was only natural that he would set the record straight, that Islam is not the enemy of America.
Still many Muslims do not like American policy and continue to protest against it. As the US continues to fight terrorists, another issue is being put to rest, namely that the attacks were politically motivated. The US is now supporting the Arabs and all Muslims to seek freedom and democracy wherever they live. The Obama government aught to be commended for this change in perception: Muslims are neither enemies of America religiously, nor politically. America is merely fighting a war for economic survival. We ask all the people of the world to unite with us to fight the war on poverty.
America is willing to risk the lives of its youth in this effort, to rid the world of greedy capitalists, socialists and fascists alike. Obama has begun campaigning for the Presidential Election of 2012. He is promoting a non-ideological approach so all people can be at peace. If re-elected, Obama promises to make sure no one has the upper hand and that all religions will be regarded equally and no religion will be allowed to have dominance over the others, regardless of demographics.
Christians in America must be reasonable and allow the Muslims to have equal footing with them, in government and in all areas of life. There are too many people protesting the building of mosques everywhere. Obama is working very hard in blunting this fear of American Christians.
This tenth year memorial of September Eleven will be carried out without prayers, so as none of the religions will be offended. The monument to 9/11 will be a large plaque listing the names of the victims. People may silently show their respect. All the people will be able to share a moment of silence in honor of the dead.
Those of us whose heart is bursting with emotion, should simply pray and ask for serenity. We can say a private prayer and remember the victims of September 11. We pray that their families may be comforted. Americans are not a vindictive people.
In the Election of 2012, Americans must decide what is the best course of action for them. The economy is not the issue; it is what they believe. What do they want? Does America want to be a Third World Country? If the US chooses to be a Third World country, where Christians are not persecuted, then electing a Christian President will be the only option. If Americans wish to continue along the path of secularism and social consciousness, then re-electing Obama will be the best choice. At least we know what to expect from Obama; if we elect someone else, there is no telling what they will do. There are at least two Mormon candidates this year. Mormons have their own agenda. They are patriotic Americans, but they do not believe in the veracity of the New Testament. In fact, they do not believe that it happened.
As for other Christian candidates, there are a few Catholics and Protestants running also. We have never had a Catholic President besides John F. Kennedy, and he was assassinated. Much has changed since those days that changed America, November 22, 1963, the infamous day when Kennedy was assassinated. When Obama was running for President, Castro said, "I'm surprised they haven't assassinated him yet." America is not the same; Muslims are well liked in America today; they bring much needed capital, and their oil rich countries can supply America's need for energy.
Electing Obama to another four year term will guarantee more oil resources for America. The rest of the world will benefit from the flow of cheap oil as well. It looks like even the Tea Party is leaning toward Obama -- if he can only steer closer to center. Really, all Democrats, Independents and Republicans want is a prosperous America. So in the end, the decision that the Senators Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd made in endorsing Obama may finally pay off. Obama will govern from the center and everybody will get to receive their benefits. Finally the Blacks and the Whites will come together and realize that what the world is all about is a job and a piece of bread.
Still Americans are a free thinking nation and they may decide on a completely different course of action. Americans believe in the power of the individual. Now that they are not allowed to pray publicly, they can shape their destiny with their own two hands.
Americans are standing on the parapet. They can spread their wings and fly. The devil is urging them to do so. Will they defy their Creator?
